A best advice from my friend!

In my opinion, giving an advice and receiving an advice from another people, especially from our friend, and our family, is very worthy and avalaible because from these advices, we can avoid what the bad things happen to us. In reality, no one is perfect from the characteristic to superficial action. For example, when we have a plan to do something although that plan seem fantastic, even maybe destroy our future. At that time, we need to have some useful advices from our friend and family, especially in strange country like me.

Now, I'm living in strange country and feel lonely because i have no family and friend in here. Maybe my characteristic is not friendly and seems serious in people's view, so making friend in here is very difficult for me. I feel so sad about that, but in reality, if you play with me in a long time, you'll never have a thinking like before. My friends said to me that" In the first time, I met you, I think you didn't want to make friend with everybody because you never talk with anybody in class. However, when I maked friend with you, gradually I change my thinking about you. You're so lovely and kind". I remembered before I came here, she said to me at the final meeting, please be more friendly and easy-going with everybody". That is my first advice. I think maybe I'll never do my best-friend's advice. But i'll try my best to change my negative point.

Second advice is about my major. My major is English and fashion design, but now I study in different area, not my major. I have many difficulties in studying Business because I have no background of Business and have no experience about it. I feel confused in deciding what the best major for me now. They said to me that " You must change your thinking now. You'll have a lot of difficulties in catching up the knowledge about business because it's too high and difficult to understand for me. In addition, it's very difficult to achieve your dream if you have no enthusiasm in it". I'm thankful to my friend's advice.

In general, I'm very happy when receiving two best advices and I'll think a lot about these advices. I hope that I'll have a lucid decision about my future career.

Research paper: Fashion

My major is fashion designer, so I'm very interested in fashion. From many years ago, fashion plays an important role in human life because it affect to social class, gender, occupation,...and fashion always change, depending on culture, time. As a fashion major student, I want to know more about fashion such as history, fashion trends,....Therefore, I want choose "Fashion"-my interesting topic for research.

On last Friday class, I was taght about how to do research paper and ALP format. Besides, according to college students, Wikipedia is not good for getting its infor mation in research paper. At that time, I search many information about fashion such as history of fashion, fashion trends, famous fashion designer around the world. In fact, fashion is general topic because it includes many problem such as type of fashion, area of working places for environment,..........Now, I'm very confused to choose the best topic for researching. After searching information from Wikipedia, I had general knowledge about history of fashion, fashion trends from 2006 to 2009,... and my question for my topics is:first, how many type of fashion do we have? Second, what area of working for designer and finally, what is the fashion trends in 2009?

From searching from internet, I has more knowledge about fashion. In addtion, I understand more characteristic person through fashion. For example, if you like red color in all costumes, it means that you have a passionate nature, even in love. I hope that I'll become famous fashion designer and all my project design will become popular around the world, even in teen age.

Do you know this idom " A friend in need is a frien indeed"? this idiom said that making friend is very easy but having a best friend is a diificult step to do. In fact, we can make friend with everybody around the world but it's difficult to have a close friend who can listen and share with us about our sadness, our emotion, even about our family. Do you agree with me?. Now, i tell to you about my friend. What are the smilarities between us?

It's too diificult to have a best friend in the different country which is not our hometown. However, maybe we're in the same situation, we can sympathize and understand our friend easily, coming from the same country. In fact, we have became friend in the first time when we met together in CSUF- looking map and findingthe campus building for our class. What a wonderful time in making friend! hihiihi. From now on, we started to study and have a lunch together in TSU. Gradually, we recognized that we had the same hoobies such as go shopping, listening pop music, especially our characteristic has some similarites. First, go shopping is our pleasure because we can go shopping in many hours a day. Do you surprise about it?. Second, we are opinionated person. For example, when we want to have or do something, we must have or do it immediately, even without thinking. Due to the same hobbies and same characteristic, we often talked each other about our sadness, our problem, even our family problem.

Generally, when we have a close friend, we must keep our relationship and improve as much as possible we can. The imporatant thing is we need to have a big-hearted to forgive our friend's mistake and give an advice to each other to help together improve better in any problem. Please remember that we lost our friendship just for not worthy misunderstanding.

Journal #10: American food

I think American food has many cholesterol, oil, cheese in almost style of food, especially in combinating some kinds of sauce and vegetables. What kinds of food is the most popular in the United States? Maybe, accroding to many people, fast food is the most popular in here such as hambuger, pizza, fried chicken, etc...Do you know why people call it "fast food"?.

Fast food is may be the traditional food in American. In here, American say "time is gold" because they work in a serious behavior. It means that they always come on time at work and use time in useful ways. Besides, they have a little time to prepare food at home. That's why American like to choose fast food- simple and economical way. In reality, fast food is very popular not only in here but also in around the world. When people talk about American food, they immediately think about hambuger- traditional food in United States. I remembered that at the first time i came here, my friend invited me to eat some cuisine in the United States. Surprisingly, i immediately thought about " hamburger" and i talked to him that. After listening what I said, he smiled and talked to me " Hamburger is not the only traditional food in here because it has many style of American food." Since then, I think about American food in a different way. For me, American food has its own characteric: many cholesterol, oil, cheese, etc...In addition, American like to combine with sauces which is depend on what kind of food they eat. In the other hand, American food is very tasty and diversified in the way of cooking. I addicted with one American dishes. That is " fried chicken". hihihi! It's so delicious.

Compare to American food, Vietnamese food is prepared in sophisticated ways. The cooker must take at least 1 hours for a daily meal. Especially, Vietnamese food is used immediatedly after cooking. At this time, food is very hot and has a charming flavour. Especially in a familymeal, it has 3 main dishes: a big soup, a tasty dishes such as fried fish, chicken fried with lemon grass and chili, and a vegetable dishes such as fried spinach, boiled cabbage,etc.... Vietnamese food has never a dry dishes like American food because Vietnamese people like to eat soup very much in their meal. For example, when I came here, I can't stand eating with no soup, just dry food. It's very difficult for me to eat. But now it's ok. hihihi!

Generally, fast food is very popular in American food because it's very simple and economical ways for their lives. In fact, if sometimes you eat American food, you'll feel very delicious and eat too much like me because enjoys different kinds of food is a pleasure for me and for everybody.

Journal #3: Old fears

There are a lot of fears people have such as the dark, the death, speaking in front of people, being alone, etc...For me, the fear is that I can't sleep alone. I remember that I always sleep with my parents until my mom has a baby. At this time, I must sleep alone in my private room. What a terrible thing! That night I can't sleep well, even I always hold my hands and never turn to the other side. You know, I seems motionless. As the result, I wake until the morning and my body is very dead tired. This problem continues day by day until I recognised that I must overcome my fear because if continuing, my health was becoming worse. I had overcame my fear by facing to it. At night, I determined that I must sleep well and try my best bravely to turn over the other side. Surprisingly, I succeed in facing my fear. Since then, I always sleep alone in my private room. In fact, when we fears something, we must be brave to overcome it because that is just an illusion which we create unconsciously. Therefore, if you fear something like me, you should be brave to overcome it because when in successful time, you recognized that "overcoming the fear is just a cake"

journal 2: Getting around

Getting around here in American without a car is impossible because in here, states located in different places in a variously different distances. For example, if u want to go Texas from Orange County, you can take at least 2 hours by plane and take at least 16 hours by car, not including traffic. In fact, transportation systems play an important role in moving from one place to the other place. How about transportation systems in Orange County? What the differences between transportation in here and in Vietnam?First, tranportation systems in Orange County and tranportation in Vietnam similar to the mean of tranportation such as motorbike, automobile, bicycle, bus,etc...Every means of transportation is suitable for every social class. For example, the normal people who has a lower income, can use buses systems for their mobility while the middle class who has a higher income, can buy their own car for their mobility. However, the number of people who uses motorbike for their mobility is rarely. Unlike Orange County, motorbike is a mainly means of tranportation in Vietnam because of the common class is more predominant. On the other hand, traffic problem rarely occurs in Orange County because everybody always obey traffic rule. Moreover, the speed in freeway is very high. If causing an accident, the number of dead people is more higher than the number of injured people. That's why people always obey the traffic rule seriously. Due to the seriously attitude about traffic rule, traffic jam is reduced very much. This is the thing which make me surprise about the attitude of people with traffic rule. Unlike in here, traffic jam in Vietnam is so serious, especially in rush-hour because more than a half of people don't obey the traffic rule, so the number of dead people is incresing more and more. In general, the transportation system is very important in every country and the serious attitude in obeying the traffic rule is also important because "the more conscious people have, the less unlucky they meet".

Journal 1: Introduction

My name's Phuong but you can call me in English name " KACHINA". I'm from Vietnam and I'm graduated student in Hublic university. My major is fashion designer and English. I have just came to United States for 4 months. People in here is very nice and friendly. I have many chance to improve my English. I hope I'll be sucessful in my business later. Ah, I can tell a little about my family. There are 5 people in my family: my parents, 2 youngest sister and me. My parents has a fashion company in Vietnam. That's why I choose a fashion design major. My youngest sister is about 9 years old and the younger one is 15 years old. They are very nice. That's all.
